At present, Entropika is working in the following research areas:
Biodiversity research via the conducting of wildlife census (covering abundances and densities of mammals, plants and terrestrial birds) with the aim of presenting evidence to afford areas of forest formal protection under Colombian law
Wildlife census and data collection on wildlife harvesting in overlapping areas between national parks and indigenous reserves with the aim of establishing acceptable and reasonable hunting restrictions and/or bans in the area to prevent local extinction of large mammals and birds whilst working collaboratively with the local communities to find sustainable alternatives to hunting
Participatory research with local communities to identify sustainable livelihoods and aid their implementation
Collecting of demographic information in forested areas and subsequent identification of environmental threats as a result of human activity
Facilitating independent investigation within the local schools and communities by teaching research techniques so that local people can carry out their own projects in the area and implement action plans as a result of findings
