Fundación Entropika’s dataset of visual detections of primates at the Colombian-Peruvian Amazonian border (2005 – 2015)
The Fundación Entropika dataset of visual detections of primates was developed to provide long-term and reliable census records of the occurrence of primates at the Colombian-Peruvian Amazonian border. This study provided baseline information on the primate community at 11 sampling sites exposed to different levels of hunting (low, medium and high hunting pressure) and under different protection categories (protected area, indigenous land, private reserve, state reserve and forest without any protection level). These data provide crucial information for the implementation of conservations strategies. The dataset is composed out of 1,623 visual detections of 11 primate species (5 families, 10 genera), collected between March 2005 and May 2015 over 761 days of effective diurnal and nocturnal census fieldwork. It is currently the most complete census dataset of primates in the Colombian-Peruvian Amazonian border, making it an invaluable resource for research in the area. The dataset is freely available in English and its metadata in Spanish from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) website.

Automatic weather station - Mundo Amazónico
Meteorological data from the Southern Colombian Amazon
This dataset presents meteorological data of the Southern Colombian Amazon. The automatic weather station is installed in Mundo Amazónico, a thematic eco-park close to the city of Leticia (capital of the Colombian Amazonas department), located at LON, LAT, ELV. Data collection started on the 17th May 2014 and is being updated on the website every 2 to 3 months. Data is available in raw format (as registered directly by the station) as 30-min observations or as a daily means in the official NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) format.

High resolution monthly means of atmospheric variables over the Amazon basin (1972-2009)
This dataset presents a high resolution (0.5 x 0.5 deg; 8 vertical levels) monthly means of 5 atmospheric variables (air temperature, pressure, water vapour pressure, vertical velocity and horizontal wind speed) over the Amazon Basin for the period 1972 to 2009 (version 1.0). It was constructed using the predictive capabilities of Time-Delayed Neural Networks (TDNN) method. Thirty years of monthly averages of current climate data (1971-2000) of the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis dataset were used to train the TDNNs, which were then validated on the next 10 years (2001-2010). Once validated, the downscaling model was fed with the higher resolution CRU TS3.1 data and SRTM-1km elevation data (thereby obtaining the higher resolution dataset).
